The Rainforest Way

This time we went to "The Rainforest Way". I will be writing about the 5 day trip we did so that you can plan your own itinerary around it. There are couple of blogs already but I felt there is still a big gap in those and hence providing more information here. If this helps you with planning then please leave a comment. If you like to add to this based on your experiences, I will include those in here so that it can become a holistic blog about "The Rainforest Way" trips. How is "The Rainforest Way" different from "The Waterfall Way"? Last year we went to "The Waterfall Way" and this year our destination was "The Rainforest Way". I mention this to differentiate between the two. Basically you should do both when you have time. Day Trip - Sydney to Southern Highland Falls

We started at 10am from Parramatta and our first stop was Lake Alexandra Reserve in Mittagong. It took us 2 hours to reach here by car. The lake is awesome. You will find several ducks so if you are with kids then you may want to take some breads with you to feed the ducks. There also is a small playground, bbq and enough tables to allow for a picnic with a great view. If you like to walk, there is a 3.5km walk to Forty Foot Fall from this Lake. We preffered not to walk as we did a similar walk in Mittagong in our other day trip. We spent an hour taking a walk around the lake and taking various pics for our Instagram. The next stop was the majestic Fitzroy Fall. This was the highlight of the trip and should not be missed. The fall is situated in Morton National Park and has various walking tracks. It has a parking fee of just $4 per vehicle. There is a nice Visitor center which also sells Souvenirs. You should not miss the West Rim Track. Its around 3km return and has so many lookouts ...

Longing for a family break after the Covid lockdown we were looking for a day trip to an area we have not explored before. We started at 9:30am from Parramatta. The plan was to go towards Bowral and nearby towns of Mittagong, Berrima and Robertson, aiming to utilise a sunny day. Short-listed several places to visit which can take from 1 to 4 days actually for the person who has time and interest. We settled for 1 day trip today and will go for another day in the next week. Here below is what we did on the day. We reached Mittagong Visitor Center at around 11:30am and took a Map from the centre for the area. The lady there was very friendly and explained us various options including places to shop and dine. The best information we got there was that we can go on a trek which has routes which are kids friendly as well. 11:50am We reached Mt Jellore Lookout. Its the best lookout in my view in that area and gives a good view of the entire area. Worth spending 20 mins. 12:15pm 5 mins drive ...
